Clare is your average teenager, hanging out with friends at Club, when she witnessed something that only she saw. Thinking she is not crazy, she tried to convinced her best friend Simon of what she thought happened. Jace is a shadow hunter, orphan at the age of ten, he seeks shelter among friends who he now calls family in the Institute. Upon doing his daily demon catching he meets Clare, a mundane, who can actually see them for what they are. Curiosity, overwhelms him and he has to find out who she is.Drawn together by unfortunate circumstance Clare and Jace will learn a lot about their past but a lot of each other. As the story unravels, Clara's mom is missing and she has no-one to turn to but the shadow hunters. City of Bones is filled with mystery, suspense, a lot of humor and a little sense of Harry Potter. I enjoyed City of Bones. Jace is funny, charming, and a dare devil. Simon is protective, a little nerdy, but truly loyal to Clare. Clare is a little unsure of herself at times both physically and emotionally. The story line was constantly moving at every turn of page. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that Jace and Clare are apparently siblings, and they are in love with each other. Can we say gross!!!!! I don't know why the author did that twist. I will have to read the other books to find out whats going on.
